– A sleepy fox rests in an embroidered wreath of leaves, embellished with acorns, hearts and dimensional ivy leaves made with double-sided fabric. This sweet wall hanging has three layered open pockets, offering small items a place for safe keeping… stationery, letters, jewellery, sewing notions, hair accessories and more.

– The panels are embroidered with simple stitches, sometimes mixing 2 thread colours to achieve a variegated look. The fox panel and embroidered pocket panel are embellished with ivy leaves cut from easily made “double-sided fabric”. They are attached to the panels with central embroidery, leaving the edges free to sit up a little from the background. This adds a subtle dimensional quality to the design.

– The “Resting Fox – Pocketed Organiser” pattern includes iron on transfers for both embroidered panels, a full sized pattern sheet and an abundance of photographic and illustrated instruction.

– A small project for the home or to create as a gift… this sweet design can be made in fabrics to suit any decor.

Fabric Required
– Very Pale Grey Fabric – A Fat Eighth – for the “Fox Panel”, the “Pocket Embroidery Panel” and behind pockets
– Dark Grey Fabric – A Fat Eighth – for above the “Fox Panel, the largest pocket and behind the pockets
– Green Fabric – A Fat Eighth – for the double-sided fabric ivy leaves and the smallest pocket
– A Feature Print – A Fat Eighth – for the middle pocket and the top and bottom border strips
– Backing Fabric – A Fat Eighth

Embroidery Thread Required
– Lighter Medium Green – I used DMC 470 – for the oak branches and acorns
– Darker Medium Green – I used DMC 3346 – for the pine, embroidered ivy and fabric ivy
– Rusty Dark Orange – I used DMC 920 – for the fox, acorns and hearts
– White – I used DMC 3865 – for the fox
– Mid Grey – I used DMC 413 – for the eyes & nose

Notions Required
– Fusible Pellon OR Thin Fusible Wadding – cut size approximately 6 1/2″ x 15 1/4″
– Fusible stabiliser – 9″ x 13″ – for backing the “fox panel” and “pocket embroidery panel”
– Fusible Webbing – cut size 3 1/2″ x 7″ – for the double-sided fabric ivy leaves
– Freezer Paper – 3 1/2″ square – for the double-sided fabric ivy leaves
– An ERASABLE Fabric Marker – some lines will need to be erased
– An Applique Glue Pen
– A 6″- 6 1/2″ wide Hanger (The hanger pictured is 6″ wide.)
