Do you know of any great online tutorials?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a "Quilting Hotline" that you could call in the wee hours. There are times too, when you just need to be able to see, first hand, how "it's" done. Most certainly, your "local patchwork store" visit, sewing circle or workshop is a great time and place to learn skills and tips… BUT, if you're anything like me, you don't generally remember to ask at these opportune moments.
I have to confess, I love an online tutorial! For anything really… from computer tweaks to the vast array of needleturn applique methods that exist. I can call on "tutes" at anytime of the day (yep I'm a late night stitcher and blogger), while drawing on the knowledge of very clever people with years of experience.
In my "online travels", I've stumbled across some needlework/quilting tutorials that I think are clear, well illustrated and comprehensive. I thought it would be fun (and hopefully helpful) to create a little library of links to share. Scroll down to the bottom of the left sidebar to find it. Some links are for reference like an imperial to metric conversion chart. There are some where you will find "quilting basics" like "using triangles", and some are just really good ideas. As a "late-night lurker of the internet", I very much appreciate coming across a gem of a tutorial or site. The effort and time taken to create these tutorials is substantial. Full credit and appreciation is due to the authors. Please take time to look around their sites/blogs.
Please note:
The library is open all hours, you don't have to be quiet when visiting AND you can even eat chocolate/drink coffee while reading!!

I hope you find these "tute" links useful. Do you know of any great online tutorials? Please email me or leave a comment if you'd like to share a particular sewing tutorial with other readers of this blog… and I will add it to the library!
Until next time…

  1. Barb of Bejeweled quilts had a mug rug and table topper recently. Allie of Allie Ooops Sweet Happy Life has been posting links to them too.

  2. Thanks Caroll, have been browsing through Barb’s tute links for ages tonight…loads to look at!! Have just added one of her links, for faux-piped binding, by TLC Stitches. Can’t wait to try it.
