A very special surprise…

I have thought so long about how to share this very exciting news with you.
"One Day In October…"
January 1st, 2012, I decided this would be my year of organisation. I knew it was going to be a busy year ahead. I set off with a determination to "have a plan". Yep, I had a list.
These are the things I'll design this year…. not too many… not too few… a lovely collection with great variety. Some dimensional projects, some lovely embroidery, a quilt or three.

Blues and greens ~ One Day In May
I had teaching retreats organised, deadlines nicely spaced out. And, I actually thought I had a pretty good idea of where I was headed and that I had a great shot at meeting my commitments and goals.

You see we have been blessed with a
"Spanner in the works"/"Surprise"/"Beautiful Gift".
One day this October, Andrew and I will be welcoming this little bundle into our lives, and our almost grown children will have a new brother or sister!
Baby blessing ~ 12 weeks
This happy snap was from our 12 week scan, earlier this week. Very exciting!
Our little one is a real squirmer. : ) It was a very wriggly scan indeed… I think that might be a hand up in front of bub's face. It truly is a joy though to see that little heart beat and to hear those priceless words…"All is well".
Over the past weeks, I've had the joy and privelege of sharing the news with a few friends and fellow quilters. I've been truly blessed with encouragement from the women around me. I'd like to thank those very special friends (you know who you are) for helping me get through the waves of surprise, disbelief and self doubt. You've helped me come through to the other side… to feelings of "how wonderful"!
Needless to say, the symptoms over the first trimester have been a trifle overwhelming, so project completion (of the crafty variety) and pattern writing have been a little slower than usual.

I do have two new pattern releases though and there will be my usual celebratory giveaway very soon!!

Thank you for reading today and sharing in our news.
Surprise!

Congratulations Melissa – your creative juices have surely been working well, to produce such a lovely bundle of joy. One of the names we used for our first bub (40 years ago) was Spanner. I just can’t believe that Spanner is now a man of 40. I hope all goes well for you and your family!!!!!
