Sweet Lilacs – Book Wrap
Finished size – 10 ½” x 6 ¾” – closed. Suitable for books up to 2 ½” in thickness

– A lilac themed, fabric book wrap for wrapping and protecting a book or journal for travel or for safekeeping. Slide the back cover of your book into the open pocket found inside, and fold each side of the wrap over the top. Wind hand braided cords around 2 buttons to secure the book wrap closed. This wrap will suit books of varying thicknesses, up to approximately 2 ½” thick.

– All embroidery is completed with simple stitches, The front of the wrap features an embroidered lilac with dimensional petal detail and 2 stitched butterflies. An embroidered verse with pieced borders is revealed each time you open the wrap.

– The front of the book wrap features an embroidered lilac. The panels are embroidered with simple stitches, sometimes mixing 2 thread colours to achieve a variegated look. The lilac panel is embellished with petals cut from easily made “double-sided fabric”. They are attached to the panels with central embroidery, leaving the edges free to sit up a little from the background. This adds a subtle dimensional quality to the design.

– The “Sweet Lilac – Book Wrap” pattern includes iron on transfers for both embroidered panels, a full sized pattern sheet and an abundance of photographic and illustrated instruction. A small project to keep or to create as a gift… this sweet design can also be personalised with your own chosen text for the inside panel.
