A Week of Milestones…

Hello! (Did you give up on ever seeing another blog post from me?)
It has been almost 4 months since I last dropped in. Sometimes, it feels like only a moment ago. Wth a baby in the home, the days seem to disappear as quickly as they begin and are always full to overflowing.
This last week seems to have been one of milestones…
Our little Hannah turned 8 months old just 7 days ago. 8 months already!

Hannah June 2013 One Day In May

She is ever curious and busy soaking up every little detail of the day. I may be steering her exploration of the world just the teensiest bit. (wink wink)

This week, I also managed to complete my first new One Day In May project since Hannah was born…. stitching, pattern, photography and all!!
AND WOW did that feel great!
There has been lots of designing in the last months and little bits of stitching here and there, but for months I struggled to really get anywhere near the completion of anything.
The "finishing" has spurred me on of course. I'm itching to stitch and finish something else. And of course to start something new… always something new.
So this is what I've completed… but only a sneak peek for tonight.

It's my project for this year's Christmas In July with Quilt Fabric Delights. Christmas In July is an annual online retreat. Being online, you can join in, no matter where you are in the world. An ever growing group gather online and enjoy brand new projects together, as well as competitons, giveaways and a great deal of chatting. You can read more here or join up here. The retreat begins today, 01 July, 2013, but it's definitely not too late to join. You can see some of last year's projects shown below… most of this year's treats are still a secret!
My Christmas In July project will be available to retreat members very, very soon. So I'll be back in a couple of days to show it to you too… can hardly wait!

The other milestone I'm celebrating this week involves a pattern giveaway, which is pretty exciting. In the last months, I've found it easier to quickly update the One Day In May Facebook page, than getting to a blog post. I've been quite chatty over there. Our little community has now reached over 2000!! So, I thought it was definitely time to say thank you to all those that follow the page.
Only fitting that it would be a "Thankful" giveaway, don't you think.
To see more "Thankful" photos… please visit the "Thankful" album
Thankful fb promotion 1 Thankful ~ full set

There is one full set of "Thankful" patterns to give away, so head on over to the Facebook page if you'd like to enter, or if you'd like more regular updates and peeks of what I'm up to.
Thank you for visiting, feels great to be blogging again…

  1. So glad to see your post today. I think of you often. I’m not on FB and I can see I’ve been missing out!! Your baby is the most beautiful baby I’ve seen in a very long time. I thought so when I saw the first ever photo you posted of her, and she just grows more beautiful. I hope you will post a little more often. Glad you’ve been managing to get a little design time in during your very busy mom schedule!! ~karen
