A giveaway to celebrate the New Year…

Happy New Year!

After a few weeks away for a little relaxation and recuperation, it's time to get back into the swing of routine and to begin planning the year ahead.
A new year feels a little like a clean slate don't you think? Without getting too deep and meaningful about it, I find myself reflecting on and challenging all manner of attitudes, life choices and priorities. We love a resolution or two don't we? I think my resolution for 2012 is "organisation for the sake of relaxation". Wouldn't it be lovely for everything to have it's place? How wonderful if work schedules and the madness of family life all fitted so efficiently into the day, that there was an abundance of time for "time out". Already, I can see my dreams of "fitting it all in" are doomed… but dream I will, for just a week or two longer.
"Thankful", my new 6 part Block of the Month, has begun to arrive in stores, which is a great feeling. It has been a wonderful exploration of technique for me, and I hope it will be for you too.
Thankful - full quilt - LARGER file size
With “faux doilies”, ric-rac roses, small fabric roses, embroidered appliqué, reverse appliqué, gathered panels, lace-covered panels, and a dimensional bow, “Thankful” has been such fun to create.
"Block 1" includes a comprehensive technique booklet filled with step by step, photographic instructions. The booklet also includes a full guide to needleturn applique, for those who haven't tried it before.
Blocks 1, 3 and 5 each measure 10 1/2" square (including seam allowances) and may be used to make a 12" cushion, edged with binding. The instructions for the cushion are also found in "Block 1". I've made my cushion with more of a "country flavour" (pictured on the bottom right of the pattern cover).

 Thankful Block 1 pattern cover
There is a new photo album for "Thankful" in the left sidebar (or click here), where you'll find a full quilt photo and lots of closeups of each block and dimensional features.

Over the weekend (after much googling and lots of trial and error),
I created this little "Thankful" button for you to add to the sidebar of your blog or website. The button will link directly to the "Thankful" photo album. To add this button to your blog, highlight and copy the html code from the box below and paste it into the "embed your own html" section of your blog content page. You can easily customise the size of the button to suit your blog or site by altering the width part (width="150") of the code. It is currently set at 150 px.

One Day In May
Add this button to your blog!
